Who we are:

The Kern River Valley Gun Association (KRVGA) is a 501-C non-profit organization that operates and maintains an archery and shooting range near Kernville, California to provide recreational opportunities to members and the public. We offer a safe environment for individuals and families to enjoy the outdoors. We provide certified safety officers for public events. We fully comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to provide services for all. We operate on a non-discriminatory basis with a special use permit from the U.S. Forest Service in the Kern River Ranger District, Sequoia National Forest.

Contact forms

The information you enter information request contact forms on our site is only used to provide provide the information you requested.

Membership forms

The information you enter on membership application forms is used to process the application and on approval is retained for membership records and insurance purposes. It is not shared with nor sold to anyone outside of this organization. Your privacy is important to us.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings
  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.

Payments

We accept payments through Stripe. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Information shared with a payment provider to process payments includes:

  • Unique payment identifier
  • Payment provider identifier

Who on our team has access

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
  • Information necessary to process the payment for your order is shared with our payment gateway and processor, Stripe Payments.
  • Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.
  • Information necessary to process the payment for your order is shared with our payment gateway and processor.

How long we retain your data

The data regarding your purchases and information necessary to process your order collected in our shopping cart, with the exception of credit card information, is retained indefinitely. We do not store any credit card information on our site nor retain any credit card numbers. You are transferred to a credit card processing site when you enter that information.

For users that register on our shopping site, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Your contact information

Contact information including address and phone number is collected to process credit cards and service your orders. Credit card information is not saved nor stored on our site. Your contact information including shipping information is retained on our site if you sign up for an account. None of this information is ever given or sold to third parties.

Information from membership applications is retained for administrative purposes.

How we protect your data

We use SSL encryption on our site to establish a secure connection between our site and your browser. This secures any data you enter on our site. No sensitive data, such as credit card data, is ever entered or stored on our site. All credit card information is collected on a credit card processor’s secure web site.

We have automated updates to WordPress, WooCommerce and all our plugins and theme to provide the newest and securest software.

All passwords must pass a high complexity test. Passwords to highly secure areas will be changed periodically.

We run periodic scans for Malware, Vulnerabilities, Spam and Firewall Security.

What data breach procedures we have in place

Even though we do not store sensitive information, any breach of our web site data including order information will be promptly reported to all concerned

We do not collect data from third parties and we do not use automated decision making and/or profiling software to analyze your data.
