Due to Easter and Mother’s day falling on the 2nd Sunday in April and May, the range will be open to the Public on the 3rd an 4th Sunday for these two months.

Members are welcome anytime from sun rise until sunset, with the exception of Tuesday mornings, when the range is closed until noon, as we perform maintenance.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer RSO, please download and submit the application here.  RSO Application

Welcome to the KRVGA, Kern River Valley’s official gun club and shooting range.   We invite you to join us in our efforts to promote organized rifle and pistol shooting and a better knowledge of safe handling and proper care of firearms in a safe, environmentally friendly recreational shooting area.

We operate on a non-discriminatory basis with a special use permit from the U.S. Forest Service in the Kern River Ranger District, Sequoia National Forest. Whether you’re a local Kern River Valley resident or a visitor of our valley, our range offers a variety of options with a view towards a better knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship.

The existence of the range limits the damage done by persons shooting in unsupervised forest areas, and the litter left behind.  Due to the shortage of trained volunteer Range Safety Officers (RSOs), the range will only be open to the public on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, see the Calendar. KRVGA members enjoy full access to the range 7 days/week.  We also sponsor several regularly scheduled events, club shooting competitions, and cowboy single action meets.   The shooting areas are covered and there is ample parking space for trailers and motorhomes including dry camping spaces. Handicap parking and range access also available.

JOIN TODAY.   Membership fees for the KRVGA are very reasonable, and all members are welcome to bring their family & friends to enjoy shooting in a safe and friendly environment.   Click Here for Membership Information.
